I agree. Wasn't there already a rift event in one of the core maps that you had to close by defeating a boss aftering being teleported to a different map?

yes, you defeat riftstalker inside. And from what we have seen so far, those new rifts are worse than those events unfortunately. But again, they didnt show us much yet
