I say go with your gut feeling here. Might be the wrong advice though.
Has bar guy started asking how your day was?
I agree, and yeah occasionally he does. It's not a daily non-negotiable thing that he does, whereas it sort of is for me. I've held back a bit though.
He's definitely more attentive in person
