Mormons literally murdered people all across the country before settling in Utah, and they were following an absolute conman who was swindling people and stealing women to claim as his wives. Don't whitewash their racist murderous history.
Also I was hoping somebody caught the analogy I was working towards, just because there's historical precedent doesn't mean it's right, especially when the country they are trying to change has freedom of religion but that's not good enough for them because they want freedom of oppression over those not of their "in-group".
Freedom of religion also means freedom from religion, don't move somewhere new and start trying to oppress people, if you want to do that return to where you came from pls.
I'm ex-mormon, once removed. My mom left them and raised me in SDA. Since leaving the house I've left all the cultish magical thinking behind, just a plain atheist now. I was going to mention how they got to Utah, but didn't want to write that much. Grouping them with others was maybe a bad choice. They all suck, just not as blatantly as Joseph Smith's brand of religion.
