Welcome to the Fediverse and all, but some things (like that thread train) are okay to stay with Reddit, just my personal opinion.
Actually super-stoked with how smoothly the transition went. Lemmy is delightfully collegial and seems to absorb all of the good with little (none that I've seen so far) of the darker aspects of Reddit/dominant socials...
I might stay awhile ๐
Watch your back, the FOSSholes are coming.
What makes someone a "FOSShole"? As far as I know the community understands and sympathizes when you can't replace some things with open-source software for various reasons. Besides, Lemmy is one, and Reddit was.
FOSS fanatics. I have no beef with FOSS enthusiasts and enjoyers, but not everyone in the community is as accepting or tolerating of other people's software choices, and a lot of these folks are on Lemmy having a good time trashing everyone else and pushing their doctrine.
Can you elaborate?
Lemmy is home turf for FOSS fanatics. Just don't let them ruin your day.
