I have a feeling like he is being squeezed by the investors. It feels like they want a tiktok/Instagram clone and he is the one that has to tell the Reddit community.

I don't think this was his vision for the site or he would have done it years ago.

Like it doesn't make it less shitty but more understandable I guess?

Yeah Hanlon's Razor has been my thought throughout this whole thing. Reddit has been mismanaged for years and it's unsurprising to me that the CEO would be so out of touch. The fact that he was so lazy and stupid as to get caught copy-pasting canned answers on the recent AMA just confirms. These aren't exactly the actions of a strategic genius.
