In this community everyone is welcome to post links and discuss topics related to privacy.

Some Rules

Posting a link to a website containing tracking isn't great, if contents of the website are behind a paywall maybe copy them into the post
Don't promote proprietary software
Try to keep things on topic
If you have a question, please try searching for previous discussions, maybe it has already been answered
Reposts are fine, but should have at least a couple of weeks in between so that the post can reach a new audience

Did you know? - Spotify runs on Google servers.

How do I know? I get the same 403 error when I try to open Spotify and Google websites.

I used to just torrent music directly to my phone so I could use a good local app, but I've gone down the subsonic route, bc it is pretty slick.

Torrent / however you get music, put it in a folder on a server.
Install Navidrome, point it at your music folder.
Get DSub for android, a great player that can even work with chromecast, can cache music locally, create playlists, etc.
