Is this just like Jet Set Radio? Or is it connected to that game in some way?

I think it's more of a spiritual successor.

OK very cool. I never got to play JSR so I’ll check this out.

I tried playing JSR a few times, but for some reason it would freeze my PS3 whenever I tried to start it, so never got to play it.

This and Sideway: New York, both games I tried to run many times but just won't work.
