What is a good start to learn Russian? (lemmy.ml)

I really want to learn Russian but I'm not really sure how to start. Should I start by learning to read Cyrillic alphabet? or something else?

(Bonus points if you have some free resources since I'm a broke student lol)

:) There is also this very young and very well playing streamer who tends to talk English but fun to watch imho. https://lichess.org/streamer/PeshkaCh GM Shipov also streams in Russian, I forgot his nickname.

What a place to bring that up, but Shura Gelman was my primary school teacher and now he's an internet meme.
