Should eBikes be governed the same way as cars or the same way as bicycles? Or maybe they need new rules?

MPs and industry experts call on electric bikes to have number plates and insurance for pedestrian safety.

No. I think this is a way that the "old guard" are trying to introduce barriers to access.

It also seems like insurance and motorcycle industry are trying to protect their stake in an emerging market.

I fully support sold ebikes being sold to standards, such as speed limits, battery safety and mirrors.
