One GOP lawmaker has said that he will nominate Trump to be speaker when voting starts next week.

No dont have to be in congress to be a speaker.

The rule theyre referring to is one that says the speaker cannot have a felony indicment that has a sentence of 2 yars or more of jail time.

So if any of Trumps almost 100 felony indicaments have a charge of 2 years or more of jail, he would be disqualified by the current Republican requirement.
