A little ant was crawling on my trackpad and as I tried to get it off, it crawled inside :( It's one of those bluetooth trackpads that are separate from my laptop. Can this thing be opened without breaking it? I'm guessing no, but maybe someone here has some insight.

iFixIt gives it a "3" for repairability:

  • Excessive use of strong adhesive makes it very difficult to remove the rear panel, hindering access to every internal component.
  • Without a service manual, it is difficult to open the trackpad without damaging internal components such as the battery and Taptic Engine.

I'd leave the ant be, and maybe get one of these stickers for your Mac.

OP will then have to call their Mac Hex.

That sticker is so funny. Thanks for the response that team definitely has more skills than I do. I guess the ant gets to stay
