I thought decals would be a video game development term. Is it not?
No a decal is any kind of graphic printed on things. Like the Police livery on cop cars or the advertisement on Nascar cars

It is used in game engines and 3d modeling tools, but the term is much older taken from something being stuck on something else, like a sticker.
Nah it just means a decorative sticker
