lemmy.ml is down? No problem! lemmygrad.ml is still online! In the Fediverse, the "single point of failure" is the internet itself.

With a little number of users, I think we should focus our attention to a few communities only. For example, [email protected] would be a better community to post in now. When Lemmy gets more users, you can diversify to more niche topics.
