I think the UN should have an actual defensive army to rapidly deploy in situations like this. Attacking the peacekeepers shows the world your true colors.

Instead of joining your nation's military, you can join the world military.

As long as it is an exclusively defensive military, I'd have to agree! Maybe it could go a long way to help people understand each other and that we are all the same.
