This is an extremely rough situation and I hope he's able to find a way out of it, but I don't think the blame should be placed on the trustee that has been assigned to him.
Near the end of the article it says the agency supports around 4000 Manitobans under guardianship with only 79 staff, so even assuming an ideal situation where each of those staff members are working as trustees and they were sharing the load equally then they would each have 88 people to be looking after. It's no wonder there's no communication.
I'd like to know how it was so easy for a single hospital stay to end in this result, but I'm sure the answer has to do with austerity and budget cuts from the previous government.
