I don't want to paint the big corps as good guys cause they're not, but this bill is stupid. Websites used to pay others to have them link their content.

If I was running Google or Meta, I would do the same. When you're in the business of advertising, you don't pay the companies you bring traffic to, they pay you. That's how the business works.

Imagine if the customer service desk at a mall had to pay the shops for each customer they directed to a shop.
