Yes, it is. I very much see the double meaning here. You're just focusing on the candy thing while ignoring the underlying insult and cheap shot to gun rights.

What double meaning? The only meaning in the images is that it's a bigger offense in the United States to bring your own candy into a movie theater than it is to bring a gun. Anything else you are reading into this is in your paranoid Conservative imagination.
