I go to bed fully clothed and wake up without pants on, so there is no way a carabiner clip would save my lucid dreaming ass.
There are "carabineers" (quick-links) that are opened and closed with a wrench for permanent installations. Give the wrench to your buddy (or throw it of the edge ๐).
