I already addressed that:

No, you didn't. You made some weird strawman argument. The residents can increase the tax by vote. They can create a minimum tax per unit. They can declare rental commercial property with high taxation. There are a plethora of things they can do.

I can’t fathom why somebody would want higher crime rates. Failing to educate the public leads to higher crime rates.

Easy, I pay for more law enforcement and we just keep them incarcerated. That is my solution to the problem. If someone wants better schools, pay for them. In return, I am willing to pay for more police to keep the poor people away from me.

we just keep them incarcerated.

How very freedom. We are number one in prisoners per capita. Land of the Free my ass.

Any system that intentionally increases crime, prisoners per capita, and cost is a bad system. There are alternatives that reduce all three. But it requires everyone investing in education.

We have lots of criminals. They should be in jail or prison to keep society safe.

Nobody is intentionally increasing crime. That’s a strawman. If they they want better education. Pay for it. It’s that simple. It’s not my job to pay for everyone’s education. I pay for the education in my area.

Nobody is intentionally increasing crime

Republicans and people like you are trying to destroy education. And that leads to higher crime rates.

So ultimately you're saying you want higher crime rates.

[–] [email protected] -3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Not at all. Republicans are trying to fix education. Instead of focusing on gender and sexuality. We want to focus on reading, writing and math.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Republicans are trying to destroy education by siphoning money away from already underfunded schools. Y'all aren't trying to fix it. You're just focusing on culture war bullshit.

[–] [email protected] -3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Not true at all. Can you show more money yields better results? That would be interesting since most studies don't show that at all.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That's not the claim though. Quit trying to move the goal posts.

[–] [email protected] -4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Then why are talking about money? You said the were siphoning off money which isn’t true but even if it was, who cares if it doesn’t change the outcome?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Then why are talking about money?

Because a school needs money to operate. There is a minimum amount of money it takes to operate a school. Taking money away from an already struggling school will just make things worse.

You said the were siphoning off money which isn’t true

So then where is the money coming from? The government's budget is a zero sum game.

[–] [email protected] -2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

So which is it. Money is important or money isn’t important.

Do you realize you’re arguing yourself in circles ?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago

So which is it. Goal post move or goal post move

An either-or fallacy occurs when someone claims there are only two possible options or sides in an argument when there are actually more.

"Money is important or money isn't important" What were the other 10 options?

[–] [email protected] -2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Read above. I clearly laid it out

[–] Bongo_Stryker 0 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Sorry, the misunderstanding comes from the fact that I intended to reply to "money is important or money isn't important" as a either/or fallacy. Clearly, schools do need money to operate, but throwing more and more money at a school hasn't been shown to improve academic performance. So demanding Pizza answer this doesn't really make any point.

But there are schools, like schools in Brownsville Ms, for example, that have very poor facilities. Because they raise funding at the local level from property taxes, they can't fix the buildings, and still make the regular budget, let alone pay for extracurriculars, sports equipment, etc. So removing funding that goes to some other school actually reduces choice.
