He's so lazy he banned my ConMod account for ban evasion when he didn't even ban my main account.

Like honestly, if you're going to powertrip, do it properly. Say you're banning me for opposing views. Say that you're against diversity. Or at the very least, ban the main before you ban the alt for ban evasion. Or even just a "I don't like you, and the admins put me in charge" if you want to be accurate.

I am a conservative. Scratch that, fuck labels.

I'm a dude who thinks all guns should be legal, I don't care if you're lgbt or if you smoke weed, I think illegal immigrants should be deported, and abortion is murder.

When I first heard about lemmy, I thought it was a good idea. Reddit was and still is a bad place, for probably all the same reasons you guys think it's a bad place.

It's decentralized! That way if you get bad admins or even just a bad mod team, you can just fuck off to the next instance.

So like many, I made an account on the largest instance, lemmy.world. And being me, I found the conservative community there to be dead. So I figured I would revive it a bit, and started posting.

Unfortunately, another user took issue with that, and every time I would post something, he’d post soon after, and bury my post. This happened time and time again. I would report it and nothing would be done. The sub had basically been abandoned.

So I decided that I might as well do it myself. And I created conservative on lemm.ee, a place where conservatives could post, and everyone could comment about it.

I had a plan of action, I’d post once or twice a day. I didn’t want to overwhelm anything, just keep it steady, invite conversation, and try to help add to lemmy.

Well it didn’t go well. We had more than our share of trolls, and I didn’t want to be a power mod. So I failed to do my job. I rarely banned people and when I did, I gave out short bans, and then they’d just either come back, or create an alt and do it again.

Notably, there was one user that for some dumb reason, I decided that if I perma banned him, I was a power tripping mod. So I didn’t, and I regret it.

One memorable incident was when I happened to know about the most popular hentai site in North America, and so a user made it his life goal to follow me around and harass me for the sin of knowing about the most popular hentai site in North America, constantly calling me a pedophile. Of course I reported him, but he kept making alt accounts to get around bans and blocks.

My biggest mistake was the namecalling ban, which got me banned from most of lemmy. I still stand by the intent, if not the specific rule. It should've been more generic, a rule against namecalling, and not a simple term ban.

I had two mods, both of them great. I really appreciated you guys, even I never said it directly.

Over time, I slowly lost any wish to continue. Then I had a major life event, negative, and I left a couple weeks later.

Now lemm.ee is shutting down, and I found about it via reddit.

I'm not sure what happened, why I’m not a mod nor is wintermute, and why my community appears to be yet another left wing community, but it doesn’t matter.

And now here I am, posting about my experience here.

• Susan Wiles, Trump’s chief of staff, worked for a lobbying firm that represented Qatar.
• Attorney General Pam Bondi lobbied for the Qataris.
• Mike Huckabee, now US Ambassador to Israel, was paid $50,000 to visit Qatar in 2018.
• Steve Witkoff, Trump’s special envoy to the Middle East, also has pocketed money from Qatar.
• In 2023, Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund bought the Park Lane Hotel from Witkoff’s company in a $623 million deal.
• The Trump Organization itself recently struck a deal to develop a luxury golf resort in Qatar. And now Qatar is considering handing as a gift to Trump a jumbo airliner worth about $400 million for Trump to use as Air Force One. The plan reportedly is for the 747 to be transferred to Trump’s presidential library foundation after he leaves office, where it could come under his personal control.

Americans are reconsidering major life events including marriage, having children and buying a home amid economic anxiety in the opening months of the Trump presidency, according to an exclusive poll for the Guardian.

Six in 10 Americans said the economy has affected at least one of their major life goals, according to the Harris poll, citing either lack of affordability or anxiety around the current economy.

Though Donald Trump’s tariff policies have only been in place for a few weeks, and though he has temporarily walked back on some of his harshest policies, the findings are a sign that Trump’s economic agenda could have long-term effects.

Discussions with the Central African country come as the Trump administration looks for more countries willing to accept deportees as part of a sweeping crackdown.

It was unclear if a deal would involve migrants who had already been deported or those who will be in the future, but any deal would potentially make Rwanda the first African country to enter into such an agreement with the United States.

Rwanda’s foreign minister, Olivier J.P. Nduhungirehe, said on Sunday that his country’s government was in “early stage” talks about receiving third-country deportees from the United States.

Republicans on the US House of Representatives’ Judiciary Committee universally voted against an amendment on Wednesday that would have prevented Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from using federal funds to detain or deport US citizens.

Democratic Representative Pramila Jayapal from Washington proposed the amendment to a budget bill, which was approved in the House of Representatives on April 10. She stated that since President Donald Trump began his second term, “a troubling pattern has emerged with US citizens being detained by immigration authorities,” citing numerous examples over the past few months. Jayapal described this trend as “unconstitutional, dangerous, and fundamentally wrong.”
