I’m willing to ammend the statement to why is anyone referencing twitter anymore? lmao
I think it's an interesting callback to show that the same tactics were being used by all parties 5 years ago. So much so that people often don't even notice it isn't current. Media references from 5 years ago are likely to have Twitter content because of its place in the zeitgeist at the time.
