Did nobody read the article? Nowhere does it say they would make Windows cloud-only. They're talking about renting out virtual machines.

Doesn't sound like it. Some people even admitted that straight up.

I don't see anywhere they are saying that they are getting rid of installed Windows, just providing a different avenue of Windows usage, something to compete with the ChromeOS type of uasge.

Sure, it's just another product they're not going to push on anybody. Like Windows 10! They're such a nice huge-corporation and always have been; why do people assume they'll do anything... distasteful?

I didn't realize software companies pushing people to the newest version of their products was a controversial issue.

Since this article isn't about the next version of Windows I'm also confused why you think what you said is relevant.
