I care about economics more than culture. From an economic standpoint, yes separation would be a dumb move.

Why would you want someone outside your culture to care about it? Isn't it better for your culture to be left alone?

What exactly about your culture requires Quebec to be a separate country? Nothing, Quebec culture has existed within Canada longer than any of us have been alive.

So significant economic cost, no cultural benefit.

You're not thinking, you're just being emotional. There's no logic or reason for separation, it is only emotions making people behave irrationally.

It's the same with Texas, same with Alberta.
