An online space for the vegans of Lemmy.
Rules and miscellaneous:
- We take for granted that if you engage in this community, you understand that veganism is about the animals. You either are vegan for the animals, or you are not (this is not to say that discussions about climate/environment/health are not allowed, of course)
- No omni/carnist apologists. This is not a place where to ask to be hand-holded into veganims. Omnis coddling/backpatting is not tolerated, nor are /r/DebateAVegan-like threads
- Use content warnings and NSFW tags for triggering content
- Circlejerking belongs to /c/vegancirclejerk

Why?
Watch Cowspiracy and find out!
So there's a message, but I can only hear it via a specific medium, with no summary provided. Both a great message, and great messenger, I'm sure... But that's a little too cult-ey for my tastes.
To stop exploiting animals for their own ends.
I just want to point out that if you truly feel deeply and strongly about your cause, there are two ways you can go about communicating that message.
Impartially, objectively, scientifically, with data to back up your arguements.
Or, yknow, you can be manipulative and play on emotions. As we see here. It's not even a robust argument or counter. Exploiting how, for whose ends? There is so much nuance to the stance you are trying to take, and you're not going to change any minds worth changing, without acknowledging that.
Pointing out for the record, I got downvotes, not cogent arguments.
