It may also be worth noting that one fisher (who was coincidentally Japanese) died shortly after exposure to the U.S.’s nuclear testing on Bikini Atoll, and that fallout from nuclear testing in the conterminous U.S. contributed to at least 340,000 excess deaths from 1951 to 1973.
