People downvote stuff for weird reasons and/or out of spite all the time, especially on anything political, but even the most wholesome, benign things that you'd think everyone would like gets downvoted. Best not to get hung up on it because you'd be here all day trying to understand the logic of an action that may well have not come from a place of logic, Lemmy's ranking algorithm places way less importance on voting than Reddit for a reason.

I am honestly curious what their thoughts are. Do they think that who her grandfather is shouldn't influence how people view her? There's merit in that line of thinking but I am curious what their thoughts are about the fact that she has talked positively of her grandfather's influences in the past.
