Gekauft werden die neuen Doppelstock-Railjets bei der Schweizer Firma Stadler. „Ein sehr erprobtes System“ erwartet sich ÖBB-CEO Andreas Matthä, „mit Schweizer Präzision“. „Wir liefern Doppelstockzüge auf Termin“, sagte der exekutive Verwaltungsratspräsident von Stadler, Peter Spuhler, bei der Pressekonferenz. Der mehrheitlich private ÖBB-Mitbewerber Westbahn fährt seit dem Firmenstart im Jahr 2011 mit Doppelstockzügen von Stadler.
