Joey Bada$$ and Nas, very nice.
I've got two, from Spotify and Apple Music.
Both have Steps as my favourite artist which mostly isn't surprising. The top song on the two differ, though - for Spotify it's Samo mi se spava by Serbian singer Luke Black, and Apple Music it's Twisted by Australian prog metal band Voyager. Both artists entered Eurovision 2023, though Twisted wasn't the entry.
Awaiting ListenBrainz's which'll be released in the new year, as that will have some of the most accurate data, as it includes things from my local library
My daughter uses my Spotify a lot. Let it go is the favorite song. Hooja is the artist.
I'm a little surprised that Cake topped my list this year. I don't recall listening to them more than the Gorillaz.
FYI Apple Music does something similar that is also out
Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness because I saw him at his birthday show last year and love his vocals.
Let You Down by NF sneaks into every playlist cause I got emotional damage. Lol
I really didn’t listen to much music this year. I guess not engaging in my main hobby that let me listen to music as much really hindered my listening time.
Top Artist: Sadistik
Top Song: Negative by Lil Xtra
Top song is Comin Around by Andrew Duhon.
Top artist is The Tedeschi Trucks band, no surprise there. Best God damn band on tour right now. Listened to them so much this year as I got tickets to one of their shows this past July.
It was a good year of listening for me.
Edit: after scrolling through the comments, pretty cool seeing very few repeated bands.
Top .05% for Rosendale too. Definitely binged.
Marsh has been on a mad run this year doing All-night long 5 hour sets across the UK and USA.
According to Spotify, my favorite song this year was Hear Them All by Old Crow Medicine Show.
And it's right.
This is almost identical to my Wrapped last year, with the exception of Kow Otani (Gundam Wing OST)
Apparently Reptilia by The Strokes and I Am the Highway by Audioslave were approximately equal and I am in the top .05% of Marcy Playground listeners.
Did the same thing with King Gizz this year as I did QOTSA in 2020. Find them around September, listen to them almost exclusively for the rest of the year, and end up in the top 0.5% or better
Kinda weird how skewed it got. I didn't think I listened to all that much Clark and JIL.
Didn’t realize I listened to so much Arcade Fire this year. Kinda weird.
I like my music shreddy and busy. Although, my top songs wouldn't really reflect that
Top artist is Lana Del Rey. Top song is Masochism by Ky Vöss.
I can't even get through it. Is there a way to just skip to the stats and not have to watch their shit presentation?
My top song is Black History Month by Saul Williams
Top artist was The Thermals, top song was Escape by The Bloody Beetroots / Toxic Avenger
(If you're wondering why mine looks weird it's from YT Music instead of Spotify)
I always find with these recaps that I don't remember listening to one specific song more than others, and I'm constantly surprised by what the top 5 are. That being said, I usually just listen to the personalized mixes, so maybe part of it is the algorithm deciding that I really like a song because I haven't skipped it 🤷
I've spent a LOT of time listening on the youtube channel "My Analog Journal" too, a ton of great guests with awesome sets. My favorite this year is Psychedelic and Folk music from Britanny with Léna C
