Memorial to "rif is fun for Reddit" Android app, aka "reddit is fun", shut down after June 30, 2023
To Talklittle... Thank you for all the years and hard work you put into RIF. I happened upon your app years ago when I was having a difficult time in my life and found simple solace there. Since then I fully embraced RIF and even got some friends to join the app/community as well. I am fiercely heartbroken over that other apps disgusting treatment of you and the others. I am very sorry, but more than that, I'm incredibly grateful to you. Thank you. Sending peace, love, and strength. ๐
I paid for RiF about 10 years ago, and it's one of the best purchases I've ever made. Big shout out to the development team for their support all these years!
So wait I logged out of rif because when I was logged in it was getting 429 and empty content... Now that I'm logged out it appears to work fine at the moment. What's happening?

I use Relay For Reddit and it is still working on my phone NSFW and all. I wonder why.
Relay is moving to a subscription model in the near future. Meanwhile it will remain free. The NSFW limitation is scheduled for July 5.
Used it daily from my bed, the office, and the shitter.
RIPRIF
I'm still getting current Reddit data out of RiF, as of right now. Not sure exactly what's going on there.
Same, it logged me out but it's still updating. Anyone know how/why?
No clue. But it let me log right back in
Also, now that Jerboa is working. This is much better. The other Android app I was using was having a hard time

I used Reddit exclusively through RIF. It was perfect for what I wanted out of the site.
A sad day. But now I'm here via Jerboa and like it a lot so far.
RIF is Reddit for me. Unless I'm at a computer. Sorry they did us dirty, but thanks for the past ten years.
I've used RIF for over six years. It's crazy to think about all the stuff the world has been through during that time. RIF was a huge source of community for me - especially during the pandemic. It stinks to say goodbye but all things end and I'm sure something better (maybe Lemmy?) will eventually fill the void. Really sad to see the position that Reddit has taken on all this.

I used Infinity for reddit on Android....I could have switched back to the original app and been ok in a lot of ways, but I know I would feel like a scab
