If I try to add an avatar to my profile I get this error on Firefox:

SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data

And I get this error on chromium based browsers:

SyntaxError: Unexpected token 'R', "Request er"... is not valid JSON

It started to work after shrinking my picture (a png) to 1024x1024, yesterday it didn't work but now it does, so, for anyone having this issue, try again and make sure the image isn't too big

It still doesn't work for me. The image is PNG, 74KB, 576x576 ๐Ÿคท.

I'm getting the same issue. Lemmy is pretty new and still under active development, so expect some bugs to occur.

I struggle with the same problem. Can't upload image anyhow, avatar, community icon or banner, post. I've read on megathread that this issue is resolved but I does not work for me. Tried on apps and different browsers.
