Hey, Sounders just received another $150k in GAM from an international spot trade (have about $500k total to work with per Sounder at Heart) and could use a talented right winger... (j/k?)

timbers fans (we/us) would lose our respective minds if that happens. the #GIOOUT crowd would grow exponentially, and i'm not in that crowd personally. if i had to choose, i think i'd choose moreno over gio at this point. something's fucky in our locker room, and gio is at the center of that.
Yeah, mostly joking. I think sounders would have to buy out Arreaga to make that happen salary cap-wise, and with Morris and Roldan coming back from the Gold Cup soon I doubt that they'd choose to spend on that position emergently.
As a sounders fan I've always kind of liked Gio. Maybe it's just because he's not Caleb Porter, who loved to play the heel. But he seems to have done well by all of you and certainly has the Sounders' number in recent rivalry matches. I don't know much about Gio, but you think that he's lost the locker room? This is more of a coach problem than a Moreno problem?
he's lost or is losing the locker room imho unfortunately
I was a Gio fan when we were on Long Island and we had season tickets to the Cosmos.
I'm still a Gio fan, and find this news to be horrible. I hope he hasn't lost the locker room.
Sadly it's looking more and more to be the case. I've not been as hot as other fans to fire Gio in the last few years, but this season is finally starting to weigh on me. There's been some similar things with a few other players in the last few years as well, such as that weird thing last season with Eryk Williamson getting benched at the end of the season, and Ivacic basically calling Gio a liar to the press at the beginning of this season as to why he was playing Bingham over Ivacic.
Between injuries and all the front office scandals, he's been between a rock and a hard place pretty much his entire time he's been here, so I have always been willing to give him some grace, but so many weird little things have slowly cropped up to being larger seemingly institutional rot at our core. I don't put all the blame on him, but he's not blameless and my grace may have waned by the end of the season depending on how things are.
I was a huge fan of Caleb, so was disappointed when he left. Gio was a great replacement though. However, like you things are wearing a bit thin. I keep hoping we'll see some late season heroics, but those hopes are fading.
