Linux
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

Me too. But they are very similar. What's your reason to go for paru?
I mainly just prefer paru because it's written in Rust, while yay is Go.
same, and the development is more community driven in my opinion.
What's the advantage of using yay over pacman?
One nice feature is you can update all packages and AUR packages with one command "yay -Syu"
Or just yay
(it's shorthand for yay -Syu
)
Oh ok. Isn't that what pacman -Syyu does though?
Pacman does not update or install AUR packages. That’s probably the main difference between pacman and yay (or similar AUR helper)
Pacman doesnt install AUR packages.
yay is great and the name is fun - It's probably the reason for its popularity
