Hello everyone,
I recently bought a C3 and am in love with it, but need to start putting together a soundsystem to accompany it.
I'm buying in the US and have read many threads already about 3.1 systems, but am smashing together different pieces of advice from random internet audiophiles and it can be hard to know if I'm allocating the money correctly.
There seems to be a fair amount of agreement surrounding the Denon AVR-S760H. Currently, it is on Amazon for $450, which seems like a pretty good price if I don't want a refurb.
Also, seems to be a consensus around the subwoofer being the piece worth spending a little extra on and everyone seems to love the SVS SB-1000 at $600.
The part that I get lost around is the left, center, and right speakers. I'd prefer to not just lay a bookshelf speaker down on its side for the center speaker, but I also see that center speakers are weirdly expensive compared to the good deals you can find on LR speakers. I want bookshelves over towers, and have to admit I like the look of Klipsch, but have also read all the suggestions against Klipsch. Already spending a grand on the Sub+Receiver means I'd like to spend less than $750 for the bookshelves+center, and around $500 ideally.
Is there an obvious mistake I'm making? Would it make sense to hold off on the Center and spend a little more on LR and start at a 2.1?
I'm rambling a little bit, but any recommendations are super appreciated.
