I have an Audio-Technica AT-LP60-USB record player I am trying to play through a Denon AVR-s540BT but cannot get any sound out of the speakers.

  • I have the red/white cables plugged into the "media player" input (I have a photo if it is helpful).
  • When I select the "media player" mode and "stereo" output, it says "analog" above it. (also have a photo of this if helpful).
  • I confirmed the player has a pre-amp and made sure the "phono/line" switch in the back is set to "line" (although I tried both).
  • When I change my mode to "tv", I get sound out of the speakers - so I know the receiver and speakers are working properly.
  • I made sure the dust cover on my needle is not on (per advice from another thread).

Any ideas? Could it be something with the cable?

[I searched for this problem before posting and found a couple of threads, but I tried everything they did in those posts and still have no luck.]
