From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

Ubuntu 21.10 is currently broken when using ZFS

I just wasted a few hours upgrading to Ubuntu 21.10 and experiencing filesystem corruption on my ZFS filesystem. I also experienced filesystem corruption after a fresh installation of Ubuntu 21.10 with ZFS.

It turns out there is a known issue with ZFS on Ubuntu 21.10 mentioned in the long release notes. I thought I would draw attention to it to save other people time and prevent losing data.

No, dunno why my comment got deleted, but there is a known issue with zfs which leads into data corruption. Wait until this is fixed, it is a pretty big issue.
