Thanks for sharing this, I watched the opening minutes and it looks very interesting.

I don't know if you've seen the VFX breakdown that was released recently by ILM for Mission Impossible? The train crash was for real but it looks like it at the end of the day, it was used as reference because almost nothing of the live action shot remained.

Very interesting commentary, well sourced and documented. This person clearly knows what he's talking about. The Top Gun example is very detailed and illustrates well the thesis that CGI and practical work hand-in-hand.
