Yeah, but I take every review with a grain of salt. I ordered desk-mounted camera stand a while ago and when I did I went straight to the most critical reviews. People were complaining that the clamp that attaches to the desk was breaking too easily, but that particular stand had a neck that was like 3x thicker than normal to accommodate heavier cameras. When people tried to adjust the neck while it was clamped to the desk the torque would break the clamp. I bought the stand, but I make sure to loosen the clamp and support the neck when I adjust it.

There is a huge amount of fake and bought "consumer" reviews, but I guess you can at least try to find the real ones in hundreds of fakes...

Always, including on alternative sites and on YouTube and other places. Bigger the investment, the longer time I spend on checking.

your post made me reflect on my recent purchases and i found that i don't really. i suppose i have enough brands that i trust through having had a good experience with a previous purchase and just remain a loyal consoomer. for instance, i really like jinen's products and customer service. my kitchen and bathroom are full of their products.
