Nextcloud has a nice Tasks app. Integrates also with the Calendar and the Deck Kanban app.

This is at least as hard as CLI, but Emacs' org-mode
is a very capable to-do list. There are plenty of emacs plugins that add reminders and notifications, though getting these to work on mobile may be a pain.
There are plenty of FLOSS alternatives: https://alternativeto.net/software/microsoft-to-do/?license=opensource
I use todo.txt. Simpletask + syncthing. Its a very easy to use todo.txt client for android, and on computer you can use any text editor.
It can do reminders.
I have just found on github a sleek - to do app based on todo.txt but with nice interface. Looks good, will try it out
final thoughts: sleek is an awesome foss to do app based on todo.txt https://github.com/ransome1/sleek
Just make a text file and do this.. [ ]Task [ ]Task 2
- [ ]Sub Task etc
i need reminders/notifications
Can you make a list of what you need? I don't know "Microsoft To-Do" and I guess many people here neither and there is a lot of software for many different use cases.
something like that but foss ^
for desktop, simple and with reminders.
