To me this is no different than telling someone to kill themselves as a joke.

It was funny years ago as a teenager but now it's just mean and a dick move.

Yeah this was a fun joke 20 years ago but it kind of has run it's course.

For one, in almost all Linux distributions this won't work anymore as rm has been updated with fail safe options for exactly that.
