"Papperger said that Rheinmetall would not abandon its plans to set up a plant in Ukraine, and that they planned to protect it from attacks with air defence systems of their own manufacture"

This real? I wonder how far they'll set up their perimeters. Maybe other factories will follow this trend. Self- defense is key.

Time will tell if they only say this in order to raise their stock value.

It would be the ultimate advertisement for their products if they show how well they protected that factory in Ukraine.

ultimate advertisement. It's Perfect PR. Service and protection 10 years guaranteed.

It is strange when you actually picture such a factory with all the equipment.

There is alot to be said about this development, politically and militarily, but also, like you said, its good PR.

Hmmm Russia targeting a German company. I think that'll play out well for them.

That's the most non credible take I heard all month and I'm all for it.

It was obviously meant as a joke but later I remembered that he was actually willing to sell out Russian positions to the Ukrainians and now I wouldn't be that shocked if he actually tried it.

3000 black Wagner troops of Rheinmetall.

I think Rhinemetall could field their own army, large enough to defeat what's left of the Russians.

Let's hold off on that for now maybe; I'm not ready for the Corporation Wars yet 😩

Did you know that Pepsi briefly owned 17 submarines, a cruiser, a frigate, and a destroyer?

Edit: On less of a technicality, the East India Company had something like 250k troops back in 1824.

What do you mean by "not ready yet"? Our timeline is already 23 years behind in regards to extraterritoriality of multinational corporations...
