Waist wise very similar but I find the cargos through the hips and legs are much “roomier”. In the regular dance pants I wear a 4-6. 4 gives me a more fitted fit where the 6 is a more casual fit. In the cargo’s size chart wise I should be a small but I find it looks like I’m wearing a full diaper in the butt area. The extra small fits similar to my size 6 regular dance pants/joggers. I’m also finding when guests try on the cargos many end up sizing down from the size they should be according to size charts.

Thanks for your input. I bought the mid rise joggers last week on WMTM. I bought a 6 and 8 expecting to return a pair, but think I’m going to keep both. I love them so much that I may try the cargo. In your opinion, is it worth paying full price?

I like them I am an educator so I get a pretty decent discount. I try to only buy things on sale but the cargos sold out so fast in my size that when they restock I will be picking up a pair or two at the full price.

Here are some key differences from my experience in trying them on in store:
- cargo’s have pockets on the side of the leg and on the bum
- sizing: the cargos are significantly roomier whereas the originals are quite tight around the crotch (I wear 6 in og dance studio vs XS is comfy for me with the cargos)
- rise: (because the cargo joggers are much roomier) you can wear the cargos more like a high rise whereas the regular dance studio are way lower and although they call them mid ride I find they fit much more like a low rise

I can show you a pic comparison if you would like! I have both and honestly prefer the relaxed fit version due to the following:
I’m tall - 5’9 and carry a lot of weight in my stomach area and have long legs and a bit of a longer torso

the relaxed fit seem to fit me so much better in the crotch area- the regular DSJ are too tight in the crotch sometimes even if I size up.

I like thst thé overall look is more relaxed and the sizing runs a bit big- I usually wear a 10 in eeg DSJ and would say that medium in the relaxed fit is a slight oversized for whereas regularly it would be a little too tight in the waist area for me and I would need to size up in a large.

For me, I would pay the price just to have the higher rise. I had regular dance studio pants and I never wore them because they were too low rise and made me uncomfortable—but other than that I loved the style. So if you’re more comfortable with higher rise and find you won’t wear the mid rise than it’s worth it to pay full price just for that because at the end of the day you’ll wear them more and get more use out of them.
