If you read recent release version 0.9 of Lemmy, you know that there are 2 mobile clients for Lemmy: Lemmer and Lemmur.

if not, please read https://lemmy.ml/post/49280

I think similar names for clients is a bad thing. And I want a new name for mine client. Imagine if new name is such a small rodent. Please suggest new name

Where is the Lemmer current at this time? F-Droid?

I've just finished installing the newly released Lemmur client (F-Droid) and currently familiarizing myself with it.

Why but call your client Orgasmatron? That's a kewl name, and it adheres to the theme too :)

I know I'm late, but don't know why nobody mentioned it: it should of course be named 'King Julien'

Oh, we both came up with lemmios. I swear I didn’t read your post first.

nice! i guess the naming gods have spoken

You could continue with the lemur theme and go with a species of lemur like β€œIndri”.

Or you could go back to the rat theme. β€œNezumi” means rat / mouse in Japanese, which I think sounds cool.

Or since it’s an iOS app you could mix Lemmy with Apple, or iOS sounding names like β€œlemmios”.

I like the groundhog family because it sorta federates, creating tunnels to different portals. How about whistlepig πŸ˜›

A rodent of the family Sciuridae, belonging to the group of large ground squirrels known as marmots, Marmota monax groundhog land-beaver moonack whistle pig whistlepig

Is it necessary that rhymes with Lemmy and/or Lemmur?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 years ago (1 children)

Maybe Lapybara? As in Capybara but with L from Lemmy?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 years ago

Although Capybaras are the biggest rodents in existence.

Absolutely no! Just a name that is well speaking and is devoted with rodents.

Let me know what you think about the one I came up with.
