Torrential rain and thunderstorms lashed the Canadian province of Nova Scotia last week in what was deemed its worst rainfall event in 50 years. Flash-flooding resulted, leading Novia Scotia to declare a two-week state of emergency last Saturday. At least three people died in the floods, up to 600 had to evacuate their homes, and power cuts affected a further 80,000.

Whats even worse is it seems an official refused to open some gates on a river to help control the flood waters to preserve a "lake" (reservoir made from a river) that was promised to a new subdivision. Canada has been sold out to corporations to make developments that most of its citizens can't even afford. The worst part is, I highly doubt any real legal reprecussions will come from neglecting to use infrastructure paid for by tax dollars and then repairing the damages from the resulting flood (also paid for by tax dollars).
