This is why I think people who bike on the road are insane. Motorists are not nearly careful enough when it comes to cyclists.

It's not like there is good alternatives. And let's not start blaming victims. Distracted and angry driver not being careful and driving too fast are the issue here.
The confederation trail is directly adjacent to the highway in scotchfort.
Also, it's not that cycling on the road can't be done safely, it's that your an overly trusting person if you think island motorists (and tourists alike) are up to the task.
