Fucking what?

How about chat channels that people can invite themselves to that aren’t the stupid upside-down facebook threaded thing? How about search that works? How about being able to scroll up more than a couple of screens? How about a UI that doesn’t auto minimise all the damn time? How about not stealing focus twice every time I share a window?

Nooo we get spatial audio and “gallery mode”.

Oh my god, the scroll issue.

A few years ago I was tasked to try and document a bunch of departmental knowledge that had been shared in a department teams chat over time, but had never been properly documented.

Hours wasted scrolling back and waiting for shit to load.

Turns out the only decent way to get teams chat history is if you have admin/audit rights to the underlying Exchange Online mailbox plus the rights to pull the chats (as hidden mail objects) out of the mailbox through the security/audit dashboard in Azure. And even then you can't get them in an actual human readable format without further fuckery (enjoy rolling your own powershell script to parse message objects from a pst and combine Teams's specific formatting of them into a sane end result)!

Specifics might be off, it's been a few years since I gave up on it, and Microsoft is changing Azure and related "backend" stuff all the time.
