If you're into electrical engineering, the one on the right is still pretty cool

They can get pretty fucking warm real fast though.

Meh it's just an electro magnet and a coil. Not really the pinicle of human technology

(Excluding all the safety parts etc.)

Yeah that shit is cool! I can make a super magnet out of electricity! How? Let me explain with imaginary numbers! Like what?? Electricity is cool!

I guess we have very different opinions about electricity 🤷

I just see it as some electrons (specifically pictured as tiny blue balls) flowing through the wire😂

Electricity is this world's version of magic complete with arcane symbols and codexes only understood by wizards.

Electron

In the Standard Model of particle physics, electrons belong to the group of subatomic particles called leptons, which are believed to be fundamental or elementary particles. Electrons have the lowest mass of any charged lepton (or electrically charged particle of any type) and belong to the first-generation of fundamental particles. The second and third generation contain charged leptons, the muon and the tau, which are identical to the electron in charge, spin and interactions, but are more massive. Leptons differ from the other basic constituent of matter, the quarks, by their lack of strong interaction. All members of the lepton group are fermions because they all have half-odd integer spin; the electron has spin 1/2.

Circuit boards almost look like they're covered in magical carvings to channel it.

The main things making electricity not seem so magical is that for some stupid reason they decided to focus on safety, standardization, efficiency, and educating people and using it for entertainment. They made it pretty cheap, often pretty safe, almost ubiquitous, and very fun.

Instead we could have had it be recklessly dangerous, completely wild designs that fit no standard components and have to be almost hand made inefficient designs for the purpose of flair, and lots of impressive threatening politicking against people who don't understand wtf you just did.

Reality is quite disappointing

Until one blows up! That's fun

Other than being without power
