But here's the thing: Aliens clearly don’t see us as mere bugs. They seem to be very interested in us. If they viewed us as insignificant and wanted to eradicate us, wouldn’t they have done it already?

These beings obviously want us alive. It feels less like a comparison between bugs and humans, and more like the relationship between a child and an adult. We are a growing civilization, and one day we could reach the same level of technological advancement as they have—just like a child grows up to become an adult.

So, back to the point: Aliens clearly don’t see us as lowly insects, and they certainly don’t seem intent on wiping us out. (In my opinion this seems like a form of fear-mongering.)
