Just peeked over at #bluesky and noticed they have both "Starter Packs" of people to follow and "Lists" of curated posts. Seems like a great way to build community (assuming they are implemented well)

Does this exist w/in the #fediverse ?

@[email protected] This feels like something that could have a clear implementation in the current protocol, doesn’t it? It’s a really solid feature either way

@[email protected] When I first joined the Fediverse, there was a site called Trunk (maybe "Trunks"?) where one could sign up to be listed under a certain descriptor. For instance, if one went looking for "Librarians", I was listed there.

I'm not sure if it still is maintained, and it's also not as elegant or user-generated as those "Starter Packs."

To its credit, Trunk did seem to ensure that people listed on it were consenting to be; the big critique I've seen of BlueSky's current "Starter Packs" is that one can be listed on many of them with no clear indication other than an increase in followers or engagement, and with no clear way to opt out.
