Of course; we don't doubt the promise. What I doubt is that the US has enough electrified track in good condition for the trains to hit 320 km/h.

Ted Cruz is going to do everything in his power to block this while telling his constituents how amazing it's going to be.

Are you kidding? They'll be listening to podcasts and talk shows about how terrible it would be and what a waste of money while sitting in traffic on I35. Then they'll demand more lanes be added.
