when trying to upload this gif I kept getting an error saying it was too tall, even when resized to 200x300 it still gave the error. Not a huge issue as I just uploaded through my lemmy.world alt

Is it really rejected based on aspect ratio, but referring to it as height?

probably aspect ratio, as these wouldn't upload due to width:
